Summer trout season 2023 Yakima, Natches, Methow

Summer trout season is under way with good water conditions steady, run off should be complete. June irrigation flows will begin soon, get the lower spring hatches while you can.  Caddis, are on the hatch and Sallies are showing now, still some March browns and a few Flavalinas are present. The salmon smolt migration started about two weeks ago, we had a good flush already so many less in the river now.  golden stones should be arriving soon and the drakes will right behind them.
Our true Goldens offer up the first big bugs of the season except for the Salmon fly that’s gone in a flash already.
I pretty much stay in the Upper canyon that has the largest cutthroat population we venture into the farmlands and below as a respite from winds occasionally. With upcoming rise for irrigation nymphing will be our friend, as the fish acclimate to the new flows our run and gun dry dropper fishing will be steady, tried and true.

Dates are available still in May and for sure open room all summer. Contact Jeff at 253 307 3210 or Email

METHOW RIVER
The snow pack was huge this season and we start and stop fishing on water conditions like start at 2500CFS and stop at 68+ degree water temps in August.
This is a wonderful cutthroat fishery with some very large trout to be targeted, usually more than not on dries or dry dropper. This is a freestone river (no dams) the hatches happen fast and steady throughout the day. Our main target is Summer stones and Hoppers with caddis, Sallies and PMDs present daily. There’s also a good chance at streamer fishing on cloudy days and rain.
This season we have the option of fully hosted lodging in Black Canyon although below the fishing deadline its very close and the accommodations include a pool, all meals and guides.

Rates are:
550$ plus tax for two and 475$ plus tax for single.
