Rental Home in Forks, Washington
The Wild Duc Lodge is a 5 bedroom home situated down a long private drive overlooking the spectacular Sol Duc River valley and landscape. During steelhead season, we use the Wild Duc Lodge as our headquarters for fishing trips. During the off season, you can rent the home for your vacation. The area is very quiet and serene consisting of local rainforest and meadows commonly grazed by Roosevelt elk herds. The property is very close to Olympic National Park, coastal beaches and the Sol Duc River. The view offers amazing sun rises and long shadows at sunset.

Family style home with wonderful entertaining qualities for the NW lifestyle. This very private estate is on 15 acres overlooking local terrain of rambling hills and elk meadows. Close to access on the Sol Duc and Calawah rivers. Nearby state forest, Olympic National Park, Sol Duc Hot springs, numerous beach trails and the Pacific Ocean.
Located within 10 minutes of Forks Washington and built in 2007 on second growth timber land with small stream and forest including some remaining old growth. Large covered decks and round about drive with plenty of parking. Additional step grassland on premises and secluded for camping and family outdoor recreation.

How To Get Here
Google Maps
The driveway is a single lane dirt road, home is ½ mile off the road
Forks is near the Northwest corner of Washington State. There are multiple ways to get to Forks and a few are listed below. I always recommend using a smartphone app. Google maps works best (see map below). Plan on about 4 hours to get from Sea-tac to Forks, take into consideration traffic at the time you are traveling.

Detailed Driving Directions
Coming from the North East: (Port Angeles) once you start crossing the Sol Duc River you’re getting close. The driveway is a single drive off hwy 101 with a metal fish hanging from a cross of drift boat paddles just past (west of ) Gaydesky.
Coming from the South: Drive through Forks, cross the Calawah and Sol Duc rivers, then look for the sign on the right between Misty Valley B&B and Gaydesky Rd.
Option 1: North side of Hwy 101 (with Ferry)
You can take the Edmonds to Kingston Ferry or Seattle to Bainbridge Ferry. I like Bainbridge Ferry. Either ferry ride is about 30 min. It can cut down on your travel time and is scenic, but if you hit the ferry schedule wrong or it is a busy day you may spend more time waiting to get on, then you would to drive around. Fares vary depending on the season. Then continue on Hwy 101.
Option 2: North side of Hwy 101 (no Ferry)
Green #1 path on map above. Driving through Tacoma (on the Tacoma Narrows Bridge – note this is a toll bridge but only for traffic when you head Back (East).
Option 3: South side of Hwy 101
Driving through Tacoma (on the Tacoma Narrows Bridge – note this is a toll bridge but only for traffic when you head Back (East).
Welcome to Forks, Washington
Where We Are
Forks sits on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula — bordered by over 100 miles of rugged coastline to the west and alpine peaks and temperate rainforests to the east. It’s remote, it’s wild, and it’s packed with over 200 miles of free-flowing rivers.
Why I Love It Here
I’ve guided these rivers for over 20 years, and I still get that same thrill every steelhead season. Forks isn’t just about the fishing — it’s about the rhythm of the rain, the way elk wander through the meadows, and how the clouds lift off the river at first light. It’s peace and power, all wrapped into one.
The Rainforest Magic
We’re minutes from the Hoh Rain Forest, Sol Duc Falls, and Lake Crescent. Moss-draped trees, fern-covered trails, and waterfalls pouring off the cliffs — it’s like stepping into a dream. And when you’re done exploring, you can kick back by the fire at the lodge and just let the quiet settle in.
Local Color & Culture
You may have heard of Forks from the Twilight series or even spotted Mick Dodge out in the woods — but beyond the stories, this place has a real soul. From the old logging legacy to the quiet downtown diners and outfitters, there’s a true Northwest spirit here.
Plan Your Visit
Check the live Forks webcams — especially if you’re curious what the beach fog looks like.
