Olympic Peninsula Salmon Fishing
2024 Salmon October and November simple lodging at Wild Duc lodge included
$495 pp double occupancy
For many years all I wanted to do was chase Wild Steelhead and the Olympic Peninsula Salmon that we found so often were basically a bycatch. Now in recent years, all of the same OP rivers we fish for winter steelhead are producing Washington State’s best Salmon runs. As a primary swing focused guide service, we are offering the same renown guide service for OP Salmon in October and November that we offer for winter steelhead.
In recent years, the rivers of the Columbia drainage are getting the brunt of poor policy and bad co-management. There’s plenty to rage about there but as an angler we constantly adapt and this is one of my adaptions. Most everyone knows of our Wild Duc Lodge and Guide Service on the Olympic Peninsula chasing the steelhead of the upper OP, but the salmon trips are a new option.
Our primary offering for these fall Salmon trips is what I call “Simple Lodging”. “Simple Lodging” is a basic stay at the Wild Duc Lodge with the amenities and daily housekeeping, you bring your favorite meat and veggies and we grill it, add to the bar and we drink it. Housekeeping does the rest. Basically, you get the use of the lodge and guided daily trips. If you want fully hosted all-inclusive, we can also set that up if you are interested. For that, we take it up a notch, bringing in a private catering chef to really enjoy the full experience and after fishing camaraderie.
The fishing is as diverse as the daily weather and conditions in fall are diverse. Seasonal rains, river flushes and drops dictate our angling much the same as winter steelhead, but with 3 larger species of fish to pursue; Chinook Salmon to 30 plus pounds, Coho / Silver Salmon into the high teens and the elusive Wild Summer run Steelhead. All 3 species are available for the diverse angler. These are swing focused trips, but float rods and Pin rods will be in use as you wish. We even have some spinner and twitch rods for those wanting the full deal. Finishing up with a camp fire and BBQ and sending you home with a few filet’s is an option as well.
